Trauma can happen in all sorts of ways. We can experience big, isolated events that shake us to the core, such as the death of a loved one or an accident. We can also experience trauma over longer time, such as parents who were overly critical, or completely lacking appropriate boundaries; physical, emotional and sexual abuse; bullying; or illness.

Regardless of the WHY, unhealed trauma impacts our beliefs about ourselves, the world, our behaviors, and our lives. Maybe you're feeling anxious, depressed, angry, paralyzed, joyless, numb, disconnected, engage in unhealthy relationships, self-sabotage, or are simply feeling stuck.

Kristen Czech, LMFT, MSN, RN, CRNP

Kristen values individuality while understanding how systems and relationships impact each person differently. She challenges clients to think differently, feel deeply, and find humor in the process.

Together, she will move with you beyond the symptoms and nurture safe spaces for connection and healing, no matter how deep the trauma. Kristen believes in the power of showing up and wants nothing more than for people to arrive at her (virtual) door exactly as they are, and she will meet you there with open arms. 

She utilizes a variety of modalities, including EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems, and more.

Colleen Valerio MS, MPS

Colleen prides herself on the ability to think (then re-think) outside the box and challenge the status quo. She's a systems-thinker who takes a non-judgemental, non-bullshit approach to therapy.

She is compassionate, while still holding you accountable to the goals you set together. Her main role is not to just “make you feel better” rather, she guides you to feel the tough emotions, process them together, and gain some insight into why these feelings are surfacing so intensely.

Together, you will go through it, instead of around it, and you will work collaboratively to develop your capacity to endure intense emotional experiences without turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Her modalities include Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, ACT, and BASICS.
